Our First Night at GKTW

Janelle had a great time at the Candy Land event.  She liked checking out the fountain along the Avenue of Angels after the event.

Amberville, the train station, includes a very detailed model train city.

Andy and Janelle went to Walmart to pickup Diet Mountain Dew and a few snacks.  The villa included coffee but Diet Mountain Dew is our coffee.  We were finally hungry for a late dinner so we ordered a pizza from GKTW's Mama Merry's Pizza Kitchen.  I waited on the pizza while they made the quick shopping trip.

Janelle did not sleep very well during her first night at GKTW.  She got up numerous times crying.  She said that animals were in her room.  Andy finally slept in the other twin size bed in Janelle's room after this went on for hours.  We thought about it the next day and realized it was Janelle's first time sleeping in a room away from home without parents since she was 4 months old in CICU at UAB.  Babies and children are only allowed the same visiting times as adults in CICU at UAB.  At least one of us was with her the entire time in Memphis with the last open heart surgery.  We took her to the beach last summer.  She slept on a sofa bed in the same room with us.  Janelle sleeps at home in her own room without a problem.
