GKTW has at least one event for the kids to participate in each night. Sunday night's event was The World's Largest Candy Land Party. It was usually held at the playground, but was moved to the Castle of Miracles due to scattered storms in the area.
A clown greeted Janelle at the castle door. He talked to her and played a few tricks. One was hiding a piece of candy in his hands. She was to pick which hand it was in. She picked both but the candy was hiding behind her ear. Ha!
We walked into the castle and started playing the Candy Word Game. Ladies were scattered around the room wearing a cardboard shaped piece of candy as a necklace. The front displayed the hint. The back showed the answer. The person wearing the candy read the hint to the kids as they walked up.
For example, "Two Female Pronouns" was the hint on the front. The answer, "Hershey" was on the back.
Other examples
Can't hold on to anything. answer - Butterfinger.
A famous baseball player. answer - Baby Ruth.
Twin letters. answer - M&Ms.
A gesture of affection. answer - Kiss.
Flotation device. answer - Lifesaver.
playing ring toss over candy. The volunteers collected the candy that her rings landed on and gave it to her.
She received a choice of prize at the end of the game depending on how many boxes she had checked. She had the entire game board marked by the end of the night. Janelle chose a miniature Little Red Riding Hood doll.
GKTW characters joined us in the fun. Murphy the Gingerbread Man, Princess Lolly, Mayor Clayton and Ms. Merry met Janelle, and had their picture taken together.
Our family pic was with Murphy the Gingerbread Man but Princess Lolly surprised us by jumping in front of the camera. She was so pretty. Janelle and Princess Lolly bounced around the party together. They were both full of energy.
I think Janelle loved Ms. Merry!
