We were on the way to Sea World and noticed a storm cloud. We were at the intersection that said to turn right to go to Sea World or left to go to Downtown Disney. We decided to go to Downtown Disney so we would not waste the Sea World ticket in the rain. It was also nice to get a taste of Disney. Janelle was given $50 shopping money from Make A Wish along with $100 from her grandparents.
Janelle found Disney's Candy Cauldron. She picked out a Mickey Mouse shaped cookie.
We also went to the World of Disney Store where we each found a Disney hat. Janelle found a Disney Princess ear hat. I got a denim I Love Mickey hat and Andy got a red Disney World hat. Janelle also got a Disney Princess picture frame. We got a frame covered in Disney character signatures. This is where we would return Thursday for Janelle to be turned into a princess.
We then went to Once Upon a Toy. Janelle loved the Mr Potato Head section. There was a table to play with the parts next to the parts display. She picked out some Disney parts and filled a box. We were able to close the box by removing one piece. She also picked out a sparkly bracelet with Mickey Mouse head beads. Janelle met a cast member inside the store. He learned that it was her first visit and gave her a first visit button.
We saw a few rain showers while shopping. It was sprinkling while walking to Disney's Days of Christmas but raining right before walking in their door. I found a family ornament to have personalized for us. I also got an ornament to match the ear hat Janelle found at the World of Disney Store. We planned to return Thursday to pickup the personalized ornament.
