A Bug, a Mountain and a Boat

We left Africa and went to the Discovery Island section.

We walked along a winding pathway while passing by tangled roots and detailed animal carvings of the Tree of Life.  The inside of the Tree of Life was the home of the Tree of Life Repetory Theatre.  We took a seat in the handicapped section and the back row after receiving a pair of 3D glasses.

We saw a 3D film and live show named "It's Tough to be a Bug!"  It was inspired by the Disney Pixar film, A Bug's Life.  Flik, the ant from A Bug's Life, narrated the show as an Audio-Animatronic figure.  Janelle's favorite part was putting her hand out to touch 3D butterflies and other items during the show.

"It's Tough to be a Bug!" included 4D surprises.  The grasshopper villain showed up; spiders fell from the ceiling.  The tarantula threw quills; we felt bursts of air as it looked like something was coming at us.  There was a wasp attack; we felt pops on the back of our seats.  The stink bug sprayed; some smelled it but we did not in the back.  A soldier termite spit acid; a mist of water sprayed at us, and our 3D glasses got wet.  The show ended with Flik talking about little bugs.  I thought it was all over.  Then we felt little pops under our seat.  The show and its effects were more intense than I predicted.

We left the Discovery Island section and walked to Asia.

Janelle and Andy rode the roller coaster named Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain.  She loved it just like the other roller coasters at Disney World.  Her favorite part was when it dropped them backwards into a cave.  She liked seeing the shadow of the Yeti.

They moved on to the Kali River Rapids ride together.  Janelle enjoyed giggling with the teenage girls on their boat.  They hit a few bumps and water came up on the sides of the boat.  They got a little wet, however we came prepared with a change of clothes.  It was not a roller coaster, but fun for both.  I watched monkeys playing instead.

The temperature was about 10 degrees less than the previous days, but the heat was different at Animal Kingdom.  It was lunch time, but I did not feel up to eating more than crackers.  We decided to leave Animal Kingdom and drive to Magic Kingdom.
